Teacher Challenge!

Learning Communities Network	This site was set up by the Rockefeller Foundation to support the work of four urban public school districts, including Albuquerque, to build an infrastructure for professional development. It has several sections which could be useful to educators, administrators, and community members. The Useful Websites section has links ranging from curriculum ideas to parent involvement ideas to professional development opportunities.
Just for Kids - The Digby Award	This site awards web pages made by kids, for kids, and about kids. You can also nominate your own pages. There are links to great pages! Check some of them out.
21st Century Teachers	This is the home page for information about the President's Educational Technology initiative. It provides a way to register so that you can receive information and share your experiences.
National PTA	This is the home page for the National Parent Teacher Association.
Welcome to NEA	This is the National Education Association home page. It has some good links to educational resources as well as some humor from the classroom.
EdWeb - Exploring Technology and School Reform	This site is intended to provide a source of information about education on the Web.
The Children's Literature Web Guide	This is a great children's literature site maintained by the University of Calgary. It has a lot of possibilities. [This site found by Carol Jakowatz]
Teacher's Edition Online	Teachers can find daily updated tips and lesson plans, a penpal connection, questions from fellow teachers, a growing ftp listing of forms and lesson helps in .pdf format, a humorous advice column and a weekly e-mail update.
Mustang: A Web Cruising Vehicle	This site is operated by the University of Minnesota. The stated goals of the Mustang project are: 1) To give K-12 educators a management model for integrating the World Wide Web into their curriculum, 2) To help K-12 educators design and implement Internet projects for their curriculum and graduation standards, and 3) To provide an on-line staff development program for teachers who wish to integrate the Internet into their classroom.
Resources for Teachers	This site is put together by the National Science Teachers Association. It is basically a shopping list of sites, mostly of science-related topics.
Kid's Web	This page used to be titled "A World Wide Web Digital Library for Schoolkids." I can't think of a better description than that.
Web Sites and Resources for Teachers	This list is compiled by two professors of Elementary Education at California State University, Northridge.
Encarta Lesson Collection	This activity guide contains suggested lessons on various topics.
Kid's World	This site contains a lot of kid-friendly links. This page might be a good place to let the kids see some of what's available on the Internet!
APS Teacher Resource Homepage	This page includes many links, from Government Agencies and State Departments of Education to Kids Pages and Lesson Plans.
